Whirlwind…
So this trip is a little more planned out than I would generally prefer, only because we are doing an Inca Trail hike–and dealing with the planes and trains to get from one part of the country to another needed to be timed out a bit better than usual…
So although I did not get to see all of Lima, it was time to say farewell until the end of my trip. Peru has only one or two railway lines and driving is not always ideal…so many locals (and tourists) take buses to make their way through the country.
The last day or two have flown by. I took a bus from Lima to Paracas. By the time I arrived in Paracas, it was already after 5pm–so I ate dinner and got up bright and early for a tour of the Ballestas Islands National Reserve. I have read that some refer to it as the “poor man’s Galapagos” but since I have yet to make it to the Galapagos Islands, I guess I cannot make that comparison. What I will say is that I saw animals that I did not expect to see. The pictures came out very well…I will add them soon.
