Lima, Peru
QUIP
One word association: CROWDED. Lima, the capital city of Peru, is one of the most populated cities in the world. And in certain spaces, like the Metropolitano (public transportation), you can feel and experience each and every one of those folks. The city boasts a population of about 8.5 million. Compared to the rest of the country, Lima is a little underwhelming but there are a few gems.
GETTING AROUND
The Metropolitano is one of the easiest ways to get around. As long as you do not mind being packed into a metrobus like a sardine, then it is awesome. Otherwise, try cabbing it around town. If trying to hail a cab off the street, know that some cabbies will refuse to take you to your destination if it’s too far. It’s a good idea to call for a taxi instead of hailing one off the street.
