Episode 41: John Allen Chau: Missionary Martyr? Or Witless Wanderer?

This week’s episode discusses the controversy surrounding the death of 26-year-old traveler John Allen Chau.  Chau was killed in November 2018 after attempting to make contact with the North Sentinel tribe—a tribe that has rejected contact with the outside world for thousands of years.  Some call him a martyr…others call him an arrogant traveler…what do you think?

The California Wildfires have claimed over 40 lives and left thousands of people homeless leading up to the holidays.  If you are interested in helping out those communities, here are some ways to do so:

World Central Kitchen:  this is one of my favorite charities.  They provide meals to those in need—and have a stellar record of helping in the aftermath of disasters (they’ve served 3.6 million meals in Puerto Rico since last year!)

American Red Cross:  The Red Cross is known for helping people and responding to disasters.  https://www.redcross.org/donate/hurricane-florence-donations.html/
